# Green Labs Solana Validator

We are the only solana validator run by a scientific community for free and open research and education in green technology, and we are a non-profit tech community. We care about our environment and we believe we can change it for the better.&#x20;

But more work and research needs to be done to realize this. And that's why....&#x20;

> We are interested in doing research on how green technology can be utilized for driving block chain technologies like the solana crypto blockchain.
>
> At the same time we want to be competitive solana validator with very low commision fee + earning MEV rewards. All the rewards earned by your stake will be 100% given back to you.

### **Our Dream:** <mark style="color:green;">**Environmental change powered by decentralized financing**</mark>

### How to delegate SOL to us?

Stake your SOL with us and get rewarded, i.e. get additional SOL. Don't let your SOL just sit in your wallet and do nothing. Delegate your available SOL to us from your wallet and increase your SOL at each epoch.&#x20;

```
Node Details:
Name: Green Labs | Nordic Waves
Validaotr Identity: 2nZFRYFgX8A2YVCawmbjuL4zSE6LSt5o7ZEHupB5rZBQ
Vote account      : Atw2Wond9H3DHfgg5NGqi4dxMwF3Nrgdhm39x2oK8MCW
```

You will first need to connect your wallet that holds your SOL and then delegate to us. One of the most easiest way to do this is by using staking.kiwi. Click on the box below to start staking your SOL to us.

## Why delegate to us?

<details>

<summary>Premium validator node, top APY</summary>

Our community runs a well maintained validator node with a good APY. For this we use solid hardware configuration, much more than just minimum requirements.

* *<mark style="color:yellow;">**This ensure that our node will earn more rewards and as a result more rewards will be given back to you.**</mark>*

We have advanced monitoring tools and pager duty services. This helps us monitor our node continuously all the time. We are proactive and get to our nodes immediately if something needs to be updated/fixed or upgraded. We are also very active member of the solana discord community.

<details>

<summary>Validator with a purpose</summary>

We are solana validators with a very special purpose.&#x20;

We research on how green energy sources can be integrated for power hungry operations like those involved in cyrpto blockchains.  We are interested in doing research on bio wastes (like food wastes from your kitchen, garden wastes etc.) to produce biogass as green energy source.&#x20;

We are also interested in looking into  the solar energy as promising green energy source for crypto blockchain. Our findings can for example be used by  data centers where a significant amount of energy comes from hundreds of solar panels, making this a more greener DC.&#x20;

Hydrogen fuel cells are modern and state of the art technology that is still under heavy research and development. We are also interested in looking into it's potential to be used in powering up blockchain operations from validation to mining.

<details>

<summary>Security</summary>

We use hardware wallets for our accounts, and store them in a secure location. They are most of the time in offline mode, and hence no threats from online hacking activities.

We have secured our server with advanced firewall policies and rules. We also have anti-DDOS security features.

*<mark style="color:yellow;">**Your SOL stakes will be perfectly safe with us, and YOU will always have full control over it.**</mark>*

## New to staking?

If you are new to staking SOL to a validator, then here are some information that might be helpful to you.

* You will need a wallet to store your SOL. There are many wallets that support the solana network. Those that are popular are [**Phantom Wallet**](https://phantom.app) and [**Solflare wallet**](https://solflare.com). Both of these wallet also have app for mobile phones (both for android and iOS).
* After you create your wallet, you need to fill it up with some SOL (solana coins). You can purchase SOL from exchanges like binance, OKX or others, and then transfer them to your wallet.
* Now that you have some SOL your wallet, you are ready to stake/delegate it to us in order to start receiving your staked rewards. For this you just need to click on the button above or [this URL](https://staking.kiwi/app/Atw2Wond9H3DHfgg5NGqi4dxMwF3Nrgdhm39x2oK8MCW), or use anyone of these trusted sites for delegation.

# Validator with a purpose

What better than to wake up in the morning and be able to breathe fresh air. We help with this to the local society by putting environment at focus. What better way than to use servers for validation in block chains that is powered up by a significant amount of green energy, in our case solar energy and hydropower energy.

And truth be told, we all want this kind of activities to happen more and more.

> Please see "What we do?" in the next section or simply [click here](/what-we-do) to know about our activities.

### <mark style="color:green;">Alright so here's who we are in a nutshell...</mark>

We are a scientific community, a group of researchers (all with very high education). We all specialize ourselves in the field of green energy technology, but at the same time we are also blockchain technology enthusiasts. We maintain a very professional solana node

***

### <mark style="color:green;">And here's what we think can be an interesting idea....</mark>

> <mark style="color:red;">**Can we use the power of Decentralized Finance to make a sustainable green tech for blockchain technology?**</mark>&#x20;

That's where our node name "Green Labs" comes from suggesting "*sustainability*". After all there is big demand of electricity use when it comes to powering up computer servers used for cryptoblock chains either for validation or for mining.  If green energy sources are used, then carbon footprints are significantly lowered and our environment will be more cleaner. But we know "*nothing comes for free*".&#x20;

So we thought:&#x20;

> <mark style="color:red;">Why don't we run a high quality validator node in a reputable blockchain (solana in our case), provide a good support and service to the network, and in return get "</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">some external funding</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">" in terms of block rewards? The rewards obtained can itself be used to support learning and doing more research about usage of green tech for powering up crypto blockchains.</mark>

It appears to us as a win-win situation. On one hand we will be supporting decentralized finance and on the other hand we get something in return that will be used for societal benefits.&#x20;

***

### <mark style="color:green;">Oh and there's one more important thing....</mark>&#x20;

> Decentralized finance with blockchain technologies does not have to be bound to just financial transactions like most people would think. It could very well be an emerging platform where "Green Labs", namely sustainable research community could be flourished.
>
> History of blockchain technologies has shown that the at times people are compelled to think or associate block chain technologies to frauds, money laundering and criminal activities.&#x20;
>
> <mark style="color:blue;">But hey! this is where we can showcase one more unique and positive aspect of block chain technologies. Demonstrating that it indeed can be also be used for providing support and platform for sustainable research, for tackling environmental concerns which benefits the society as a whole can be promising.</mark>

***

## <mark style="color:green;">So....</mark>

> Our team will continue to dream and follow this path.... You can also be part of this incredible and unique journey if you delegate your SOL to our validator node.
>
> [Click here](/#how-to-delegate-sol-to-us) to see details of how you can stake/delegate to us.

# What we do?

Provide clean air to breathe

We do research for clean and green energy sources like the biogass production, hydrogen fuel cells etc. For example, food wastes, garden wastes or any other organic wastes are used to produce biogass. There are more than 50 local public buses which use this biogass on a daily basis with ZERO carbon emission to the environment. This has benefited thousands of people everyday.&#x20;

Many benefits come with this:

* People can breathe more fresh air.
* People pay lower bus far due to lower cost of biogass production.
* High quality educational outcomes, research progress.

<figure><img src="/files/mQVylF7JDd6KhBmZZkEK" alt=""><figcaption><p>Local Buses powered by biogass from wastes. They are ZERO EMISSION buses.</p></figcaption></figure>

***

### Green electricity <a href="#green-electricity" id="green-electricity"></a>

We also focus a lot on solar energy as source of green energy. The outcomes of the research can for example be used by a local data center (DC) to optimize their energy consumption by using more solar energy to meet their demand in a productive way on daily basis. The DC receives the other half of its energy demand from hydropower energy which in itself is a clean source of green energy.

### Hydropower and hydrogen fuel cells

Hydropower is the oldest yet the most green technology to produce electricity and power. On the other spectrum, hydrogen fuel cells are cutting edge technologies that are capable of providing clean energy. We also try to put our focus on researching on how these technologies can be used as source of power for crypto blockchain operations. Environmental challenge is not bound to local destinations but is a global problem.&#x20;

**Sharing is caring!**

We invite all interested parties to participate in the transfer of green technology knowledge.
