# Validator with a purpose

What better than to wake up in the morning and be able to breathe fresh air. We help with this to the local society by putting environment at focus. What better way than to use servers for validation in block chains that is powered up by a significant amount of green energy, in our case solar energy and hydropower energy.

And truth be told, we all want this kind of activities to happen more and more.

> Please see "What we do?" in the next section or simply [click here](/what-we-do.md) to know about our activities.

### <mark style="color:green;">Alright so here's who we are in a nutshell...</mark>

We are a scientific community, a group of researchers (all with very high education). We all specialize ourselves in the field of green energy technology, but at the same time we are also blockchain technology enthusiasts. We maintain a very professional solana node

### <mark style="color:green;">And here's what we think can be an interesting idea....</mark>

> <mark style="color:red;">**Can we use the power of Decentralized Finance to make a sustainable green tech for blockchain technology?**</mark>&#x20;

That's where our node name "Green Labs" comes from suggesting "*sustainability*". After all there is big demand of electricity use when it comes to powering up computer servers used for cryptoblock chains either for validation or for mining.  If green energy sources are used, then carbon footprints are significantly lowered and our environment will be more cleaner. But we know "*nothing comes for free*".&#x20;

So we thought:&#x20;

> <mark style="color:red;">Why don't we run a high quality validator node in a reputable blockchain (solana in our case), provide a good support and service to the network, and in return get "</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">some external funding</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">" in terms of block rewards? The rewards obtained can itself be used to support learning and doing more research about usage of green tech for powering up crypto blockchains.</mark>

It appears to us as a win-win situation. On one hand we will be supporting decentralized finance and on the other hand we get something in return that will be used for societal benefits.&#x20;

### <mark style="color:green;">Oh and there's one more important thing....</mark>&#x20;

> Decentralized finance with blockchain technologies does not have to be bound to just financial transactions like most people would think. It could very well be an emerging platform where "Green Labs", namely sustainable research community could be flourished.
>
> History of blockchain technologies has shown that the at times people are compelled to think or associate block chain technologies to frauds, money laundering and criminal activities.&#x20;
>
> <mark style="color:blue;">But hey! this is where we can showcase one more unique and positive aspect of block chain technologies. Demonstrating that it indeed can be also be used for providing support and platform for sustainable research, for tackling environmental concerns which benefits the society as a whole can be promising.</mark>

## <mark style="color:green;">So....</mark>

> Our team will continue to dream and follow this path.... You can also be part of this incredible and unique journey if you delegate your SOL to our validator node.
